take time to smell the roses

Image not my own
During such a stressful time that entails constant studying for exams, I have lately found salvation in the little things.

*Brambly Hedge Tales (the best of all) *heated blankets and new floral sheets *striking a match and lighting a candle *hot chocolate while working *home baked treats awaiting me after school *The Snow Child by Ewoyn Ivey *weekly weekend trips to the bakery *trips to the markets on chilly Sunday mornings, warmed by scarfs *impromtue entries in delicate diaries *baths with bubbles *roses in bloom *pancakes for breakfast *letters in the mail  *afternoon walks to a lake *admiring modest houses on said walks and daydreaming about my own future home *smiles from strangers *classical mix tapes *lists *staining my mind with inspirational quotes and beautiful words *a spritz of perfume *listening to ones own heartbeat *observing the night sky
