Dabbling in art

Watercolour of a childhood doll
Painting inspired by a photograph of Brigitte Bardot (click for photograph)

Am teaching myself how to paint and draw again after a long break (due to school demands). They tell you that once you learn a skill, such as riding a bike or playing the piano, it will never leave you. But if you discard it for a while, you grow rusty. I feel I can never improve this way, that I cannot do justice to such lovely people, objects and photographs. I fear that there is just so much more to learn. However, at the end of the day, that is all I have ever wanted, and ultimately wish to do, for centuries to come.

Inside of my diary. A letter to Antoine de Saint-Exupery with favourite quotes

  8. I sense a wonderful artistic talent.... these pieces are stunning! :) I love the Brigitte Bardot-inspired one the best. I am just like you in that I always feel like there's more to learn, even if you think you've produced the best creation. It's very much like a quote I came upon a long time ago, something among the lines of, a true artist is one who never stops painting because he will always think that he has more to learn. Keep up the wonderful work <3

  10. You are such a dreamy artist, Carina! The teddy bear you drew in your last letter astonished me! I though it was a print, then I looked closely and realised it was painted by you ♥ I'm so sorry you haven't receive my letter yet, I've been so busy lately and the rain has been restricted me from posting it! You will definitely receive it by the end of the week though :) xxx

There will always be so much to learn, the best thing you can do is to start and never stop, well at least until the circumstances force us to do so, we should go on, right?
Anyway, so sorry for not being able to comment or even read your charming blog but now i can and i'm really glad to be inspired by these pages again^^
